Finally..I think I had to reschedule this family session twice because of incremental weather. I am so glad we did because we ended up with such a beautiful spring evening. We found this random truck where we were shooting and wouldn’t you know it he loves trucks. I love the colors and reflections from the sky on the truck window. It only took a little while for this family to warm up..give a boy a truck and girl and tutu and wow their personalities just come to life. I love to watch it happen. Here’s a few of my favs so far.

Here are a few from a sesson I did over the weekend. I think this is the third time I have had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful bother and sister. This time we did a session with their Grandpa and Grandma too. We had fun playing dress up with some fun hats, little suitcases and taking “Ruby” (her babydoll) for a stroll. Here’s a little sneak peak for B.

Everyone says she looks like me. Complete strangers walk up to our family all the time and tell us how much my daughter looks like me and my son looks like my husband. I guess I never really saw it beyond the blond hair and blue eyes. Maybe because I have an idential twin so I have heard this all my life or because I am always behind the camera lens. My husband took this picture while we were on vacation earlier this year and for the first time I think she looks like me and I just love it! Messed up hair and all that is just so us…perfectly imperfect.
The didn’t write the following I saved it from an email I received from a friend some time ago but I thought it was just so true and perfect for Mother’s Day:
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn’t worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put
her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I
couldn’t
stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so
much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never k new I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn’t know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn’t know how special it could feel to feed a hung ry baby.
I didn’t know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn’t know that something so small could make me feel so
important and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10
minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a
Mom
Happy Mother’s Day Everyone!
Marci
